About Skokie's Spring Greening
Skokie’s Spring Greening began in 2011 as a community fair for residents to promote sustainable and green living. Since then, the event has evolved into a comprehensive, community recycling event open to all households of Niles Township and those residing in communities of the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC). SWANCC member communities are listed below. Participation in the event continues to grow, with over 1,000 vehicles dropping off household items each year! Skokie’s Spring Greening is a collaborative effort of the Skokie Park District, Village of Skokie, Niles Township High School District 219, Skokie Chamber of Commerce, annual event sponsors, and over 100 helpful volunteers.
