About Skokie's Spring Greening
Skokie’s Spring Greening began in 2011 as a community fair for residents to promote sustainable and green living. Since then, participation has grown, with over 950 vehicles dropping off household item. Now in its 13th year, the event has evolved into a comprehensive, community recycling event open to all households of Niles Township and those residing in communities of the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC). SWANCC member communities are listed below. Please note that due to declining participation at the indoor green fair, Skokie’s Spring Greening will only feature drop-off recycling. Thank you to all of the green and sustainable businesses, organizations, crafters and entertainers who participated in the indoor fair in the past! Skokie’s Spring Greening is a collaborative effort of the Skokie Park District, Niles Township High School District 219, Village of Skokie, Skokie Chamber of Commerce, Skokie Public Library, and 80 helpful volunteers!
